The meeting at the Geologic Institute of Sao Miguel in Ponta Delgada was very interesting.

Jacqueline and me were astonished, when we saw the new buildings at the University of Ponta Delgada. A lot of investigations have been done in the last years.


Professor Nicolau Wallenstein told us about the volcanic activities on Sao Miguel. He was very accommodating and was a big help for us!












He also showed us the seismologic centre, the heart of the institute and very important for the risk management of the island. Some parts of the island are too dangerous for a project like ours, some others offer maybe possiblities.
